Laser hair removal in Dodoma
Face, underarms, bikini line, legs and the beard area, including ingrown hairs and shaving bumps. A test patch first, then a course of sessions.

Hair removal that is safe for darker skin
Not every laser is safe on deeper skin. The clinic uses a platform and settings designed for richly melanated skin, so the energy reaches the hair follicle without injuring the surrounding skin.

What is laser hair removal?
The laser sends a pulse of light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and converted to heat, which disables the follicle. Hair in its growth phase responds, so several sessions catch each follicle in turn.
It also treats pseudofolliculitis barbae, the shaving bumps on the beard and neck that are common in men with curly hair and are difficult to control any other way.
Why treat it
Medical reasons
Shaving bumps and ingrown hairs cause recurrent infection, dark marks and keloids. Laser removes the cause.
Confidence and comfort
Freedom from waxing, shaving and the irritation that follows.
The process
From assessment to results
Skin and hair type are assessed, a test patch is done, and the settings are chosen. You will be asked to stop waxing or plucking four weeks before.
Each session:
- The area is shaved and cooled
- Pulses across the area, each felt as a warm snap
- Ten to sixty minutes depending on the area
- A soothing gel and sunscreen
Mild redness for a few hours. Hair sheds over the following two weeks. No sun exposure, hot baths or scrubbing for a few days.
Six to eight sessions, four to eight weeks apart, give long-term reduction. A yearly maintenance session may be needed.

Who treats you
Your dermatologist
Is laser hair removal safe on black skin?
With the right laser and settings, yes. The test patch confirms it for your skin before a full session.
Is it permanent?
It is long-term reduction. Most hair does not return; some fine regrowth may need an occasional maintenance session.
Does it hurt?
Each pulse feels like a warm flick of an elastic band. Cooling keeps it comfortable.
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes. Shaving is fine; waxing and plucking are not, because the laser needs the hair root in place.
Do you treat men?
Yes. Beard-line and neck treatment for shaving bumps is one of our commonest requests.
