Acne treatment in Dodoma
Specialist acne care for adults and teenagers, in person at Kisasa Plaza or by video from anywhere in Tanzania.

Treat the acne, protect the skin from marks
Acne on deeper skin tones leaves dark marks long after the spots have gone, so the plan treats both at once: the active acne first, then the marks and any early scarring, with sun protection throughout.
How it works here
- Book a skin consultation online or on WhatsApp.
- The dermatologist examines you and writes a plan with prices.
- Treatment starts the same day where suitable.

What is acne?
Acne happens when pores block with oil and dead skin and bacteria multiply inside them. It shows as blackheads, whiteheads, red spots and, when deeper, painful lumps on the face, chest or back.
It is common from the teens into the thirties and is driven by hormones, genes and sometimes products or medicines, not by dirt. Scrubbing makes it worse.
Why treat it
Medical reasons
Untreated acne can scar, and on deeper skin it leaves dark marks that take months to fade. Early treatment prevents both and shortens the course.
Confidence and comfort
Clear skin changes how people feel about being seen. Treatment is about confidence as much as medicine.
The process
From assessment to results
The dermatologist grades the acne, looks for marks and early scars, and asks about products, periods and medicines.
A written plan, usually combining:
- Topical retinoids and targeted creams
- Tablets for moderate to severe acne
- A gentle cleansing and moisturising routine
- Daily sunscreen to stop dark marks
Most plans show change within six to eight weeks. Some creams cause mild dryness at first; the dermatologist adjusts the plan at review.
Once the acne is controlled, marks and scars are treated with peels, microneedling or laser as needed, and a maintenance routine keeps it away.

Who treats you
Your dermatologist
Can acne be treated by video consultation?
Yes. Clear, well-lit photos and a video call allow grading and a prescription. Deep or scarring acne is best seen in person.
How long before I see a change?
Usually six to eight weeks for the first clear improvement. Marks fade more slowly, over three to six months.
Will treatment lighten my skin?
No. We treat the acne and the marks it leaves, and we never prescribe skin-bleaching products.
Do you treat teenagers?
Yes, with a parent or guardian present for anyone under 18.
What should I stop using before the visit?
Nothing. Bring every product and cream you use so the dermatologist can see what is helping and what is not.
